March 3, 2023The Queensland Government has announced the open dates for round 4 of the Business Basics Grants for Queensland small businesses.
The application process will start with Registrations of Interest (ROI) on Thursday 24 of November, opening at 9am and will close Monday 5 December at 11.59pm.
Please note Registrations of Interest are not time sensitive and registrations can be completed anytime while the stage is open.
If you’re successful in the ROI stage you will be invited to complete stage 2, submissions for full applications open 12 December 2022.

What you need to know
The grant aims to provide $5,000 for QLD small businesses to increase core skills and adopt best practices.
This support includes funded activities in 5 priorities:
- Training and coaching
- Website build or upgrades
- Professional business advice
- Strategic marketing services
- Business continuity and succession.
The program is administered by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT).
Available funding
You may be eligible for a single up-front fixed grant payment of $5,000 (excluding GST).
The grant is for funding activities from the above 5 priorities.
DESBT will not fund activities with either:
- a total cost of less than $5,000 (excluding GST)
- payments made before the approval date (you must be approved before you pay for grant-funded activities).
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this grant, your business must:
- not have been approved for funding under Round 1, Round 2 or Round 3 of the Business Basics Grants programs in 2021 or 2022
- have fewer than 20 employees (by head count) at the time of applying for the grant
- have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
- have a Queensland headquarters, and be based in South East or Regional Queensland.
- have an expected turnover of $300,000 or less for 2022FY
